About 10% of humans have an elevated pallette. I fall into that category. I can discern differences in taste and smell better than the other 9 people in my test group. Similarly, about 10% have virtually no ability to discern anything but texture or the mostest acute smells and taste sensations. The rest fall somewhere in between, the bulk huddled in the middle like a bell curve. This explains the popularity of chain restaurants. Red Robin, P F Changs and Olive Garden who all serve, at best, mediocre food. I now open the floor to the 80%. The lower 10% doesnt care.
