About AAP Chalakudy LS Candidate Noordeen my friend.. K.M.Noordeen Edamuttam ( post ), Kaippamangalam Assembly Constituency, Trissur. Education – B Sc degree course Youngest son of Kodungookaran Mohamed and Paruppana Fathima, Noordeen was born in Chentrappinni village in Thrissur district. He attended Chentrappinni High School, Christ College Irinjalakuda and Sree Kerala Varma College Thrissur but could not write the degree final examination. In Bombay he underwent for Cost and Works (AICWA) coaching, went to Dubai and took up an employment there and gradually established Ocean Rubber which is an engineering products manufacturer. Noordeen’s elder sister Suhra was a heart patient. While his sister was admitted in hospital, Noordeen stayed with her many days which gave him first hand knowledge of human suffering. He was just 15 years old when Suhra finally lost her prolonged battle for life. His sister’s illness and death caused a major deviation in the outlook of Noordeen. He started diverting his attention from studies to the problems confronted by those around him and beyond. He was drawn into various agitation movements as a student leader. Ordinary people started looking at him for leadership and guidance even while he was a student. During this period he established his friendship with Mr. Innocent, the film actor, which continue’s even now! He was the district president of Pariva rthana Vadi Congress, a revolutionary organization led by Shri. M.A.John. Noordeen was forced to go into hiding to avoid getting arrested as he opposed the Emergency Rule of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Noordeen developed a difference of opinion with the political group and did not involve in politics after ever since. Alpha Charitable Trust was established by Noordeen with an objective of improving quality of life of human beings in distress without discrimination. K.M.Noordeen is also the chairman of Alpha Palliative Care, acknowledged to be India’s largest Palliative Homecare Provider operating 5 hospices in 4 central Kerala Districts, and several Palliative Link Centres with facilities for physiotherapy intended to improve the mobility of permanently bedridden people The treatment is provided free of cost including medicines, home care by doctors and nurses and admissions in hospices. Rehabilitation projects implemented include Alpha Home for patients who lost their homes for treatment, Alpha ITI to provide vocational training to patients’ children, wedding scheme for the daughters / sisters of patients from families devastated due to disease or accidents. of the patient and the family is the major challenge faced by Alpha Pain Clinic. Alpha is offering Alpha Sakti Projects like scholarships, self employment through Self Help Groups, pension scheme etc. Noordeen believes that freedom from pain and distress is a fundamental human right. Society should come together to support and strengthen the less privileged as a duty, not an option. Any society that does so, promotes the blossoming of mutual love, respect and understanding.
