About a year ago, Vanessa and I looked at a 14-acre property and strongly considered creating a wilderness adventure summer camp for dogs. During our ponderings, I had the opportunity to speak with Julie Pamplin Castaneda, a successful 6-acre doggie dude ranch owner from Topeka, Kansas. She was a great source of info and we quickly became friends! Since then, weve spoken weekly (sometimes daily) by phone, attended a conference together in Baltimore, and she conducted a 2-day staff training in Wheeling. Weve shared our experiences, our hopes, our dreams, and our disappointments. The property didnt work out, but the friendship remains. Yesterday, I flew to Kansas for a visit...the long way, cuz there is no easy way to get here! Today starts my adventure on the ranch! So excited and so happy to be here!! Stay tuned!
