Abraham was a man who refused to worry. Hebrews 11:8 says, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” He had no idea where he was going, but he refused to worry! God wanted Abraham to seek His kingdom first, and according to scripture, he did. Hebrews 11:10 says, “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” As he walked with God, Abraham was blessed. You can apply this truth to your life. You must seek the kingdom of God first. Then, you will see your plans, visions, and dreams fall into place. Stop worrying about the future! Stop worrying about your failures! Stop worrying about your kingdom! The kingdom of God will survive when your kingdom crumbles. Abraham learned another important lesson about the kingdom. He saw that being a citizen of the kingdom did not grant him immunity from trouble; repeatedly, he had to deal with difficulties. Some were major problems, but he confronted them as a man of faith. He did not always make the right decision, either. Sometimes he made mistakes; but he never lost sight of the kingdom or the God he served. Mike Evans
