Absent Spouse in Divorce I was in Shah Alam high court this morning. More than 40 couples were there to dissolve their marriage. In some cases, the spouse did not present, and the reasons provided to the court were bordering on contempt: - attending seminar - attending company training - attending important meeting - on company trip - on vacation The judge was not amused by these excuses. He said in open court that the dissolution of marriage is equally as solemn, serious and important as the solemnisation of the marriage. Will you run away from your wedding just because you need to attend company training? I agree. One should treat his divorce as serious as he treats his wedding.
