Adam was a friend of God. They walked and did everything together. When he fell, he hid from God, his friend. This was his natural reaction once in sin. He attempted to cover his shame with leaves. God called for his friend asking where he was. God saw Adams effort of covering his sin inadequate and clothed his friend with sheeps skin. God still loves and calls for us even when we sin. We are the ones hiding from him in shame.
