Monash is Australia’s largest university and has eight campuses and two research centres in Prato, Italy and Mumbai, India. Of the eight campuses, six are in Australia, one in Malaysia and one in South Africa. Recently Monash opened a graduate school in Suzhou China. Located in Ruimsig, Johannesburg, Monash South Africa offers a range of full-time degrees in the fields of Social Science, Health Sciences, Business Sciences and Information Technology, each with a variety of major options. Monash South Africa conducts high-quality, innovative and relevant research that addresses themes relevant to South Africa, the continent and beyond. Purpose of position The Admissions unit aims to provide seamless services delivery of high quality customer services to students and other stakeholders. Key selection responsibilities Provide accurate, complete and timely advice (counter, phone, e-mail, written) to prospective and current students and staff that is consistent with University and School policies and procedures. Conduct and/or participate in reviews of processes, documentation and service delivery and make recommendations for improvements to student service operations. Assist in the resolution of disputes. Capture and record applications, forms and requests, as required Work collaboratively with all teams and groups. Co-ordinate and manage large-scale mail-outs to students. Co-ordinate and manage the planning and organization of admissions during peak periods and other key admissions processes, including staffing requirements, training of support staff, production and distribution of material. Perform admissions data audits to ensure accuracy of student records. Run weekly admissions reports for electronic distribution. Key selection criteria A tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience. Applicant without a tertiary qualification but with extensive experience and specialist expertise in the key selection responsibilities may be considered. Knowledge of National Qualifications Framework and Umalusi will be advantageous. A high level of written and verbal communication skills for interaction with students and staff at all levels across a wide range of areas, including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in the recording of student records A high level of proficiency in computer usage, including Word, Excel and Access, Windows operating systems and student and other administration systems, e.g. Callista.
