Adrenalin rush... make fear your companion... do you want to be safe and good, or do you want to take a chance and be great? Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly... successful people take big risk knowing that they might fall hard, but they might succeed more than they ever dreamed... As you move forward on your journey from where you are to where you want to be, you are going to have to confront your fears. Fear is natural. Whenever you start a new project, take on a new venture, or put yourself out there, there is usually fear. Unfortunately, most people let fear stop them from taking the necessary steps to achieve their dreams. Successful people, on the other hand, feel the fear along with the restof us but don’t let it keep them from doing anything they want to do or have to do. They understand that fear is something to be acknowledged, experienced, and taken along for the ride. They have learned, to feel the fear and and do it anyway. Why are we so fearful? Millions of years ago, fear was our body’s way of signaling us that we were out of our comfort zone. It alerted us to possible danger, and gave us the burst of adrenaline we needed to run away. Unfortunately, though this response was useful in the days when saber-toothed tigers were chasing us, today most of our threats are not all that life-threatening. Today, fear is more of a signal that we must stay alert and cautious. We can feel fear, but we can still move forward anyway. Think of your fear as a 2 year-old child who doesn’t want to go grocery shopping with you. You wouldn’t let a 2-year-old’s mentality run your life. Because you must buy groceries, you’ll just have to take the 2-year-old along with you. Fear is no different. In other words, acknowledge that fear exists but don’t let it keep you from doing important tasks. Some people will do anything to avoid the uncomfortable feeling of fear. If you are one of those people, you run an even bigger risk of never getting what you want in life. Most of the good stuff requires taking a risk. And the nature of a risk is that it doesn’t always workout. People do lose their investments, people do forget their lines, people do fall off mountains, people do die in accidents. But as the old adage so wisely tells us,“Nothing ventured, nothing gained.“ Another important aspect to remember about fear is that, as humans, we’ve also evolved to the stage where almost all of our fears are now self-created. We fright enourselves by fantasizing negative outcomes to any activity we might pursue or experience. Luckily, because we are the ones doing the fantasizing, we are also theones who can stop the fear and bringourselves into a stateof clarity and peace by facing the actual facts, rather than giving in toour imaginations. We can choose to be sensible. Psychologists like to say that fear means: fantasized, experiences appearing, real. One way to actually disappear your fear is to ask yourself what you’re imagining that is scary to you, and then replace that image with its positive opposite. All the successful people I know have been willing to take a chance—a leap of faith—even though they were afraid. Sometimes they were terrified, but they knew if they didn’t act, the opportunity would pass them by. They trusted their intuition and they simply went for it. The fear will never go away as long as you continue to grow. The only way to feel better about yourself is to go out......and do it. The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out....and do it. Not only am I going to experience fear whenever Im on unfamiliar territory, but so is everyone else. Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness. People who hold their fear from a position of power interpret fear as a green light. Thus they move ahead and push through their fear. They might not even call it fear but adrenalin rush. I find this truth especially important because it implicates that giving in to your weaker and frightened self is not an option. You have to push through your fears otherwise you surround yourself by fuzzy fears and a feeling of helplessness. Action is necessary to move from pain to power: action is very powerful. Words can be powerful as well. Pain: I should. Its not my fault. Its a problem. Lifes a struggle. If only. Its terrible. Power: I could. Im totally responsible. Its an opportunity. Lifes an adventure. Next time. Its a learning experience. Doubtlessly, the way we talk (to ourselves) determines amongst other things whether we are on or off the power and love track. Forget about all the moaning and groaning, blaming other people and bad luck; its irrelevant. Truly responsible people look at the opportunities in every situation. What is more, even in case there are hardly any opportunities these people would keep a responsible mind. Truly taking responsibility means saying Yes to any situation that life brings along. Its the precondition for grouping your inner forces in order to make the most of any given situation. Leading a truly responsible life requires awareness and clarity. Taking responsibility means being aware of payoffs that keep you stuck. The payoff for suffering, having bad luck and for being ill could be the attention you get from your fellowmen and from your loved ones. Becoming aware of these psychological mechanisms is the precondition for taking responsibility and action. Reality is neither positive nor negative. It doesnt even exist without our consciousness as we create our own reality. We see things the way we are and not as they are. Powerful and positive thinking makes us and our body either strong or weak. With negative affirmations physical strength goes down the drain. Positive thinking is something you have to practice regularly, otherwise you lose the skill. Its like hygiene for your brain – dont stop taking your mental and spiritual showers. Keepp repeating positive affirmations for outtalking the inner chatterbox. That way you can stay centered and tap your source of power. Another key to becoming more powerful is the ability to make decisions. Sometimes people behave like the proverbial donkey who is incapable of deciding in between two attractive alternatives. Due to the donkeys in decisiveness the animal chooses to starve. Its decision by default. Very often people are stuck in the above visualised donkey dilemma because they think in terms of right or wrong with regard to decisions. The no-lose model shows a relaxed way out of the rut. Regardless of which path you choose there is something positive in it for you: a learning experience or Goodies. Dont take yourself and your decisions so seriously, lighten up and trust in your ability to handle whatever comes your way. Inform yourself about the alternatives at hand and try to feel your decision with lightness in your heart. After you have made your decision throw away your old picture and look out for what you really get as aconsequence of your choice. The actual result can be different to your orginal plan (picture), but so what, it can still be equally or even more rewarding. If you find out that you dont like your chosen path any longer change it and dont worry about resources being wasted. There were Goodies on your old path and there will be Goodies on your new one. Another key concept for becoming more powerful and fearless is giving – out of a position of love and trust without expecting anything back. Genuine giving is not about having second thoughts. The very act of proper giving is supposed to be rewarding for its own sake because it feels good. Through genuine giving you can get in touch with your Higher Self – divining that your life and your purpose can be bigger than yourself. But what if you never get anything back? What if you believe in abundance but your fellow men stick to their win-lose thinking? You need a lot of intrinsic security and humour to manage genuine giving when being surrounded by a scarcity mentality. Bear in mind that an abundance mentality and positive thinking are infectious. If you stay true to your path and insist on being a giver (of love, praise, information, thanks, time and money) you might eventually have a healing effect on the people in your vicinity. In addition to that as like attracts like you become surrounded by more and more positive people who believe in abundance. Then synergies can be generated and public victory can happen. In case you manage to handle both private andnpublic victory your life becomes whole. The callenge is to stay on the exciting and adventunrous path to power and love, to be patient, to make fear your companion and to trust your intuition. Let your inner guidance system, your hunch and your higher self take the lead and when in doubt bear in mind: Its all happening perfectly. Dont get angry at yourself in case you feel stuck in a rut. By taking mental showers regularly and by not taking things too seriously you get back on track. You will never become fearless as long as you face new challenges. Make fear your companion in your lifes adventures but dont give in to your fears. If you want to overcome fear, you have to want to do it bad enough. If you don’t have a strong desire to overcome fear, you won’t. It’s important to be absolutely determined to get rid of your fear once and for all. If you don’t take risks, you lose without even trying. Those who live lives in fear regret when their lives are over. You are here to experience new things and to grow, and enjoy a higher standard of life. The knowledge of how to overcome fear, therefore, is essential if you want to enjoy your life. Sometimes to overcome some fear you have to face it without any delay. This is very beneficial for your personal development because facing your fears makes you grow and takes you outside of your comfort zone. To face the fear, however, you have to have a strong motivation behind this goal. Why do you want to overcome the fear? How would that benefit you? So when you want to face the fear immediately, think of the benefits and the drawbacks of facing your fear. Then you will realise (in most cases) that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks and therefore you will not feel scared to take the action you always wanted to take. If you still think you will be unable to face your fear, start from overcoming smaller fears. When you see that you can overcome your small fears, you will move on to bigger ones until you can face your major fear. If you want to make a major progress and overcome your big fear, face it without going through your smaller fears. This will save you time but it’s harder to accomplish. However when you overcome this fear, it will seem that you can do anything, you will feel much more relaxed, you won’t get stressed as much and you will feel happier. To do that, you have to stop thinking about your fear. The more your think about it, the more it paralyses you and makes you frightened. So the best advice to overcome your biggest fear is just do it. If you want to remain calm and peaceful as you go through life, you have to have high intention and low attachment. You do everything you can to create your desired outcomes, and then you let it go. Sometimes you don’t get the intended result by the date that you want. That is life. You just keep moving in the direction of your goal until you get there. Sometimes the universe has other plans, and often they are better than the ones you had in mind. That is why I recommend adding the phrase “this or something better” to the end of your affirmations.
