Advice Please! Repost anonymously. I just received a phone call from my doctors pediatrician in regards to her 12 month wellness check up and blood tests. Her doctor has informed me that my daughter has elevated levels of lead in her system (a 7, when it is best to be below 5). She has recommended giving my daughter a daily dose of a supplement called Poly-vis-ol with iron to absorb the lead and retesting in two months. I just looked it up, and it is from the formula company, Enfamil. All other tests came back normal (including her iron level). I am okay with giving her an iron supplement to help her absorb the lead, but I am looking for the best brand to give her as well as other advice on how to get rid of the lead in her system. We will be having our home tested for the source but are unsure of what else to do. She has received some vaccines on a selective and alternative schedule, was exclusively breastfed for the first six months of her life, eats whole foods which I make myself, organic and local, and gets a daily dose of vitamin D, probiotics, and cod liver oil. What else should I do? Thank you everyone.
