Advice please- Bailey has had a preputial infection for a month now. I noticed he had a bad discharge the start of March so we had a swab taken which has come back clear. A week after the swab he had a bloody discharge so got ABs for him. 5 days after starting the ABs the infection got a lot worse so got different ABs, painkiller injection and anti-inflammitories! Today the infection is better but he still has swelling and redness so hes on 1 set of ABs and anti-inflammitories for another week. My vet is keen to castrate him but I dont see how this would help- hes not a humper at all but she feels it may help reduce the smegma thereby reducing the likelihood of infection. Anybody have any experience of this who can advise please?
