After 12 years in business, The Blank Club is closing its doors on Jan 31, 2015. But wait... great news... They will reopen in March, as a new, yet unnamed venue, at the old F/X club in downtown SJ. YEAH!!!! That is going to boost the San Jose music scene, as well as the downtown area. Currently, as the former Angels club, the building has sat empty for about 7 years. As the F/X, and before, many great bands have graced the stage there, and The Blank Club is legendary for having gotten its fair share of amazing artists as well. So this is going to be a great pairing of reputations. It was long known that The Blank Club was simply too small to hold many of its higher end shows, and they needed more space. The old F/X building provides all that, with a nice long room, plenty of bar space, and ample backstage and loading area. Not to forget the reputation of having been the notorious Pussycat Club in the 70s. LOL! Im totally looking forward to this, and the varied music genres and styles it will bring back to the downtown area. :)
