After a 4.5 hour dive to Tipperary, our radio location device was activated to attempt a positive location from Tipperary to the surface enabling surface trackers to pot the direction of the cave passage, and also to send messages. Unfortunately the signal was not received at the surface. At this moment we are not sure if this is due to equipment or the depth of the rock above Tipperary. During the night Jason Mallinson further explored a dry passage leading off from Tipperary and after passing several dodgy climbs a significant dry fossil passage was entered. This being some 5m x 3m. In total an estimate of 1km of passage was discoverd on this exploration. This discovery could be significant as a dry entrance to Tipperary would help greatly with the logistics of exploring further in the active sumps. After spending a comfortable night in Tipperary with Curry and Rice, an early start commenced a rapid exit from Tipperary and this was followed by copious amounts of cerveza!! Fantastic effort so far from everyone concerned.. photos to come soon..
