After critiquing the comment of an anarcho communist (AC), he responded saying the following: ME: You act like there is no poverty in an anarcho-communist society. You also have made comments which make it seem as though you believe poverty is man made (which it is not). AC: Poverty is a consequence of denying life necessities (In the case of Capitalism, its by money). In a system where resources are shared and people of society can use wealth created by society, poverty has no meaning. [You heard from an anarcho-communist himself- poverty is man made] ME: To argue that capitalism requires money is not true. [He did make this argument] AC: I never said that. What Capitalism requires is scarcity. Scarcity creates demand which ensures dependency - a dependency that can then be exploited by tacking on a fee or rent for usage via Private Property rights. This would be considered violent in an open access system. [This guy pretends as if scarcity doesnt occur under socialism] ME: Also, you act as though socialism is some kind of paradise where everything gets something from nothing AC: I never said that, I said that wealth generated by society should be in common ownership of everyone society where everyone has an equal vote in what goes on: factories, businesses, parks, roads, schools, etc. This is not the case today, decisions are left solely to the owners in a hierarchical system that subjugates those at the bottom. ME: The major reductions in global poverty have not come about through socialism, but through economic globalization, liberalization, and free trade. AC: uhh.. are you sure? Is that why there are more people starving and dying at a rate never before seen in history? Im not saying there hasnt been any good, of course there has, but not for the vast majority. [When I read this I almost laughed because its factually untrue] ME: Do you believe a people should be able to engage in a capitalist economic system? [I asked him this to see if he believed in liberty which he previously claimed to do] AC: I think people should be able to do whatever they want, but measure it against a technical benchmark that ensures environmental, social, and ecological sustainability. Obviously people shouldnt be able to do WHATEVER they wanted (ie: stealing, murder, rape, etc), so there needs to be an objective benchmark (via the scientific method) to evaluation the integrity of peoples actions. Anything that is harmful to the environment or people would be considered a sickness and would be treated as such. [He might as well have said: Guys, you can do what you want but it has to be measured against a benchmark that I determine]
