After having finally checked this out for myself Ive gotta say: This trailer has this tiny bit of iffiness to it: The action in the trailer does not offer even the slightest clue as to how Scott is using the shrinking beyond riding a flying ant (and the typical stuff as showcased in Honey, I shrunk the kids). I mean, it has been shown how it works in comics so I have a rough idea for how it goes there, but in live action movie terms this has not been attempted as a superhero asset in an action film. Unless they are going to do the he maintains his normal-size strength and therefore is a superstrong ant-sized person (which is Atoms thing, not Ant-Mans) in which case Giant Man would be bullshit if he ever turned up in the movies. Which I bet he will, because shrinking is a novelty and neat trick, not a main superpower like a metal suit that makes you half Superman. That having been said: The rest REALLY intrigues me. This Hank Pym seems to be one who only discovered and completed the research on the Pym Particles when he was too old to use them himself, and Scotts motivation already is unique among the Marvel heroes as he is a father. Definitely going to watch this. Also the two bits of actual performance we got out of Paul Rudd was likeable, if too sparce to give an actual premovie characterization.
