After high school, I got a job working for TCI Cable / Primestar. I quickly learned that Primestar was the best and that DirecTV and Fish (oops! Freudian slip?? I think Ill leave it...) were the enemies (that might be a little dramatic, however, you understand how competing companies work...). Then DirecTV bought Primestar and I had to unlearn all the reasons why Primestar was the best, and learn all about DirecTV. I didnt like the way it made me feeeeeel. I had been saying one thing to customers, and then one day, because I was paid to do it, I had to start saying something different, even though deep down I didnt feeeeel it. In my 11 years as a Construction Bond agent, I watched the same thing happen to banks, insurance companies, and surety companies. I imagined that they felt the same way I did. A sense of perfidy, perhaps? I watch the same thing happen in direct sales, only its the individual jumping ship, over and over. And here I sit, wondering how their customers feel, wondering if the consultants truly feeeeel what they are saying? I like where I am. They like me. Im going to stay put as long as I can, because this company and product feeeeeeels right. Get out there and make a choice to do what YOU love. Happy Monday!
