After intense negotiations with Hammersmith Council you are now all aware that the original unveiling date of October 31st has been cancelled. HOWEVER, a new date has been negotiated and a time as well, but this comes with extra problematic issues that I now need to work through in order to try and make this fair for everyone, which isnt going to be easy. After much arguing of my points I have managed to meet with the committee chairman and have them agree to the bench being placed on the actual island where I envisioned it to be since the start of the campaign, not at the church where they envisioned it. However it is this that causes the now large issue. Due to the location, Hammersmith council are required to have myself involved with the local police and to limit the number of persons allowed on the island to just 50 (this is subject to change as they are still looking into how to fit people onto the island) obviously I now need to find a way to make this fair to everyone because sadly, not everyone is going to have a chance to be at the centre of it all as it occurs. As we also cannot close the actual pedestrian crossing we also have to work around pedestrian traffic, any plans to close that would involve advanced bylaws for the public which wont be possible with the time given. Therefore I ask you to bear with me for a couple of days whilst I attempt to figure out how to exactly go about this, I will then update you all. Ive attached photo proof of email cuttings (just because I know a few dont believe how blinking difficult this has been and continues to be)
