After much anticipation in the build up towards FC Thats Animals Castilla teams first ever match in the leagues, it didnt disappoint on the action front. After taking the lead within minutes due to a fortunate deflection off Forsters already deformed jaw, spirits were very high within the team. Shortly after Noble fired in a wonderful strike from range to make it 2-0 to the debutants. By this point SS were feeling the pressure and hit back after stand in goalkeeper A Collis conceded a penalty due to a mishap from T Noble not knowing the full rules of the game. TAB then extended their lead to 4-1 after goals from Forster and Matthews respectively until their elder shot in a powerful effort to make it 4-2. Another penalty was then conceded after a similar of errors and this then put it to 4-3. The second half was even more packed as both teams were more than ready to put up a fight to the death. After A Collis handed in his gloves and passed them over to J Rudkin, who although having very little defensive cover for the first five/ten minutes played reasonably well. TAB then extended their lead massively up to 10-6 after goals from Collis, Forster, Matthews, Robertson and Noble and an absolute training ground free kick involving Forster slipping it through to A Buck who coolly slotted it through the keepers legs. At this point TAB were cruising to victory. with 10 minutes to go Collis then extended the margin to 6 goals with two blinders. SS then fought back hard and racked in the goals until it was 12-10. Then Forster made his fourth count with a left footed strike from range. Now five minutes to go until the final whistle, TAB let their guard down massively and SS made it 13-12 with only seconds remaining. With a desperate attempt to hold out they were gifted a free-kick and with a simple mistake from TAB they equalised with the last kick of the game. We battled hard and made it past our first match without losing. The manager is reportedly going into next week having been back to the drawing board, to change the tactics and bring in a full time keeper named Rory Craig, a promising young lad with an unannounced credibility. Many thanks to the fans and to physio K Lewis for showing their support. To next week!
