After returning from sailing on the Bosphorus today I went on walkabout through Istanbuls Grand Bazaar. Its a frenetic space full of colour and vibrancy. The place is filled with the sweet fragrances of Persian perfumes, rich aromatic spices, the fruity smells from hookah pipes and meat being grilled on open flames. I had lots of cups of complimentary Turkish tea and probably sampled about half a kilogram of Turkish Delights and Baclava walking through the bazaar. A rather chilled day was rounded off at my favourite hammam, Cemberlitas.
