After seeing the National exposure for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on every media known to man I dont think I have witnessed an actual ALS patient have an Ice Bucket poured on them. Please understand Im sure they are out there, I just havent see it yet. Today I witnessed a great coach for my sons Lake Oswego High School Football coaches in Oregon participate in the challenge, with coach Jeff Young. Coach Jeff is an amazing inspiration to the team who has been fighting this disease for 31 years now. There is a brief pause when Jeff tells coach Coury its been 31 years not 27. Jeff struggles to write a message to the team every week before Game night on Friday nights. Coach Coury reads his message before each game. He is a great man and a loved man. LOHS is very lucky to have him. So glad to see this disease get the National attention it deserves.
