After talking with many people who grew up near large cities, many remember at Christmas time going downtownto one of the big city stores to visit Santa Claus, to see the wonders of Toyland and to ride on the Christmas train in Toyland. My mother took my sister and me to Edwards and Sibleys on Main Street, downtown in Rochester. I do remember visiting Santa and he seemed to have a foreign accent. I cannot recall what I asked Santa to bring me;I was most likely scared to talk. Sibleys Toyland was filled with all those Christmas catalog toys in real life!
