After that video of the nest under an undercut bank the other day, I received a number of messages asking how I manage to see a nest and what they nest in, the truth is, luck and they nest in anything they can! Have found nests around timber structure, rocks, undercut banks, plain drop offs and even contours along muddy banks the fish have cleared themselves. This however is introduced structure, a rusty 44 gallon drum with a cut out in next to no water! The footage is a little blurry as the underwater housing is still on the camera and I didnt put it in the water in case it disturbed the Cod which can be seen fanning the eggs under the weed at the bottom of the screen. Hows this for a large number of eggs though! They were literally overflowing out the rust holes along the edges of the old drum. -Joe
