After three plus weeks (two in Europe) we are winding down to the last gig of the tour tomorrow in New Hampshire at the White Mountain Boogie & Blues Fest. Today was spent at the Chenango Blues fest in upstate New York. We did an early set to a very enthusiastic crowd with beautiful weather, (sorry Charlie!) The band was in fine shape after the three weeks we put in, playing the new material and some classics. We have been doing a song for Richard Duran (Lynwood Slim) on every show of this tour, and today was no different, Michael Ledbetter belted out Tried To Call You from Slims Lost In America record and I know Slim was smiling somewhere up there and saying well done Holmes! The staff was great and we were treated awesomely by the fans after our set during our CD signing session! Unfortunately we had to leave and get a jump on the road for a gig tomorrow in New Hampshire. We did run into some of our favorite band of seasoned gristled road worn veterans Charles Baty, Anson Funderburgh, Richard W. Grigsby, Wes Starr and Mark Hummel out in the Parking lot of our luxurious accommodations at the ever upscale and trendsetting HoJo. My suite included at no extra charge a wildlife motif with small creatures all about, and the wonderful aroma of room air freshener they chose was either wet bonfire or industrial fire I couldnt really tell. Tonight we slum it at a Courtyard Marriott, and I will miss my little critter friends, but lucky for me the smell from my room at the HoJo has permeated the clothes in my suitcase! See you tomorrow at the a White Mountain Fest where we will put a cap on this tour and send it off big time!
