After watching Lahasa SUPERB performance..I begin to believe such - TopicsExpress

After watching Lahasa SUPERB performance..I begin to believe such complaint especially that two of the judges claimed such.. THIS IS THE REAL CHEERDANCING ROUTINE! In cheerleading there are only two main criteria - cheerleading criteria (50%) and dance criteria (50%). The cheerleading aspect composes of the tumbling (standing and running), stunts (lifts and tosses), and pyramids while the dance aspect usually includes the choreography, technique, over-all effectiveness and execution. I also watched the SAAG video from Mutya Marie Malupeng Oberita account for comparison, although the angle of the video composition has taken from the side/or back but its clearly captured. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION. After watching the video and reviewing the criteria (from above statement not exactly detailed and similar with the one they used yet its the general rule) The following have been noted; 1. The Cheerleading element (the tumbling, stunts, and pyramid) is NO DOUBT Lahasa nailed it. Indeed Lahasa deserved HUMONGOUSLY the over-all stunt special award. Lahasa showed and marked next level of stunts and pyramid more so that proper mounting and dismounting have been clearly seen. Lahasa delivered very clean and fluid tumblings, stunts and pyramids. On the other hand, SAAG also gave their best shot yet somehow, i believe theyre lack of fluidity in terms of mounting and dismounting their stunts. I noticed few flaws in mounting and dismounting. SAAG has great highlights as well but Lahasa excelled above my expectations. 2. In Dance Criteria - Choreography. Choreography is the art and sequence of movements in which motion, forms, or both are specified. Both Lahasa and SAAG showed excellent choreography however; the transition and sequence of Lahasa is more fluid and defined it clearly shows in the video; their floor movements are executed correctly, why? they performed floor movements with the correct transition going to the next step. For SAAG, i noticed incorrect transition of floor movements but they have also defining sequence routines. This might justify their special award best choreography. But for me, I personally shout out the best choreography award to Lahasa because their sequence and transition are CLEAN, FLUID, and FRESH; watch the video and witness most of the time the audience just simply speechless, enjoyed and awed the performance. 3. In Dance criteria - Technique. Technique is the basis of all fundamental of dance, from holding you body correctly while performing, to executing skills properly in a routine. Body alignment, leaps and jumps, and turns are some skills technique showed. The body alignment of Lahasas is again defined; the way they executed their V-shape arm position clearly shows especially Lahasas leaps and jumps are truly executed with poise and grace; even some of their jumps are defined by check mark leg rest position in which one of the great improvisation techniques in cheerdancing. One thing more, observed both videos and noticed that Lahasa just enjoyed their performance, that means that they are comfortable with their dance fundamentals - in short their techniques are more defined and properly executed; while SAAG showed significant fundamentals but there were moments of stiffness and non-fluidity. 4. Dance criteria- Execution. Again both Lahasa and SAAG showed outstanding execution of routines but again Lahasa nailed it simply their dance performance and floor movements are fluid and defined and most importantly their EXECUTION of dance techniques including their stunts, pyramids and tumbling is superbly excellent, having said this, I should have awarded Lahasa as Best Dance Technique. With regards to over-all effectiveness technically still Lahasa owned it. 5. The best costume and canned music, I will leave that as your personal choice. Honestly, SAAG has striking csotume but if you try to look also Lahasas it will give you a second thought because Lahasas has something that youve just loved it and one thing more its truly appealing and fresh. However, I have some queries on the best live drum beat. I believe the drum beat is part and parcel of cheers and yells, which means that whoever wins the cheers and yells automatically wins the drum beat - its the drum beat that makes the cheers and yells!!! Dont tell me you judge the cheers and yells by the CONTENT and you judge the drum beat by the RYTHM? Remember its cheerleading in which its aim is to cheer and support the players and that makes cheers&yells and drumbeat as one. In summary, the cheerleading element (tumbling, stunt, pyramid) is 100% rocked by Lahasa. The dance element, specifically technique, execution, and choreography again Lahasa nailed it. With this, HOW COME LAHASA just grabbed the first runner up? and one thing more, the ONE POINT difference is not accurate based on their performance; then here comes the SCORES ALTERATION issue in which based on my source the two judges claimed such! Guys you might labelled this as baseless accusation but remember it could be essential because its the VOICE of the people!
