After watching the BBC TV programme, Question Time - with all them greedy money-grabbing MPs. My brain went into a rather satirical mode - and I thought Id share with you all this little gem. True political satire!!!!!! Enjoy! A REVISED NURSERY RHYME Sing a song of expense, more loopholes have been found, That is a racing certainty when when the MPs are around. They take a second mortgage and for them it is no bother, Then mix and match and swap these homes, paying rent to one another. Sing a song of expense, an office is a must, Perhaps the local party is a landlord we can trust. We can fix a suitable rental, to ease the costly pain, And then, of course, the bonus, we can use that cash again. Sing a song of expense, our fuel costs ever grow Gas and electricity costs, ever more as you all know, And with two homes to furnish, and give us light and heat, We’ll have to invade the public purse; there can be no retreat. Sing a song of expense, for they may have had their day An inflation-busting increase, will help to boost our pay, Eleven per cent when others, have endured just nought or one, We can then invade the public purse, not for gain but just for fun. Sing a song of expense then we can all go straight But the timing of this increase, is really coming late. We’ve taken extra employment to keep ourselves in touch, But 10k for three hours per month, is really not that much. Sing a song of expense if we should lose our seat, By courtesy of the PM we can be given one last treat, The Upper House awaits us, as does the public purse, Three hundred quid for twenty minutes – things could be a whole lot worse!
