Again, Lamido slams PDP, says Party has deviated +rules out defection Dutse— Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leadership of deviating from the democratic tenets of the nine founding fathers of the party and playing politics of hate, deceit and nepotism. Lamido, who spoke in an interview, said the intractable crisis in the ruling PDP had stifled Nigeria’s democratic drive and dented the nation’s image before the international community. According to Lamido, the PDP has failed to use the power given to it by Nigerians to address the basic problems confronting them but has turned the party into a tool for promoting sycophancy and blackmail. ‘’Those who are making noise in PDP today have no idea of how the party came into being and do not also have any knowledge about Nigeria’s history. “My fear is that the current PDP cannot address Nigeria’s problems if it cannot, as a party, ensure transparency and accountability in the way the party is run. When the party fails to be run on established democratic principles, it cannot meet the genuine desires of Nigerians,’’ he said.
