Again, forgive the personal post but wanted to share this too. By Teresa Miller Wease. Ok so the first amazing thing that happened this week was, the other night this man walks into a Turks game and introduces himself as Scott Mills, Im Brads brother. When he found out I was coming to Elkton VA on business he asked if I would please stop by and say hello to Bob and Teresa and get him a Turks shirt. Scott was referring to 2005 Turk LHP Brad Mills (Arizona) who is now playing with the Toronto Blue Jays. Brad had messaged me awhile ago about buying a Turks t-shirt and unfortunately I hadnt taken the time to send it to him. Scott preceded to tell me how highly Brad has always spoke of us and his summer in Harrisonburg. Then he said the most amazing thing to me. He said, Id say it says a lot about you and Bob and the program yall are running if a guy is still talking about his summer experience 9 years later. I was pretty shocked, very happy and extremely touched by the thought that maybe these guys truly do remember us and their brief time in their baseball career that we shared with them. I know Bob and I treasure our memories of all of the players (summer sons) that have worn the Turks uniform, played at Veterans Memorial Park, shared a few good laughs and fun times on top of great baseball seasons but I dont know that we ever thought that they give much thought to us or Harrisonburg years later. We love Face book because we are able to keep in touch with a few of them or their parents and see their wives, children and sneak a peak into the man that they are today. Yes, there is life after baseball and its cool to see what so many of our Turks Family are doing in that life. Thank you for the memories Turks summer sons and members of our Turks Family~!
