Agakhanov buried in his home country. On Friday, July 5, the funeral of Khalnazar Agakhanov was held in Ashgabat. Quite a large number of people came to pay last respects to him though there were no reports about the death of the Turkmen diplomat and no condolences in the Turkmen mass media. For the past 14 years Agakhanov pursued a diplomatic career, representing Turkmenistan as an Ambassador in Kazakhstan, Russia and then in Germany. Neither the Turkmen government, nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences in connection with the death of the Ambassador. No obituaries have been published in the Turkmen print media and on the website of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs and moreover, there are no reports about Agakhanov’s death.
