Well subtitle it does hal lindsey graduate of dallas theological seminary writer of ny times best selling books on end times know his ass from a hole in the ground ???? The faction that popularised the doctrin is called dispensationalism and the rapture is there millennial veiw or there eschatology ( study of the end times ) First off the most popular version of the doctrin goes something like this . Before the start of a seven year tribulation and the second coming of Christ , Christ first comes back and removes all the christians off the earth and takes them to heaven . Returning with them on the last day to put everything under his controle . And then ruleing with HIM foe a thoulsand years . The removeing of the christians removes the holyspirit from the earth wich allows the trib to begin . Scripture says we havent been given over to wrath they use this has proof the the christians cant be present during the trib . Also its during the seven years that God deals with the Jews seprate fom the believers that have been removed , fulfilling the promises to Israel led by 144, 000 thoulsand Jewish evangilist . Theres more ill add has things come to mind . One of the scriptures popular for defending the position is in Thessalonians . The dead in christ will rise first and those that are alive and remain will be cuaght up in the air around him . Theres a lot to this and books have been written on it . Already gettig complicated. Try and get simple . A little history . The rapture doctrin ill call the rapture cult or rc from now on never exsisted till the early 1800 hundreads . There were premillenialist in the early church but never dispensationlist. A dispensationlist says that God deals with diffent leople in diffrent ways over the ages . One of the reasons that the rapture works for them . Frees God up to deal with Israel . First there was a spanish priest emmanual lacunza that came up wity the idea that the redeemed would be removed 45 days before the coming of the lord . Then a 14 year old girl margret mcdonald claimed to have a vision about the rapture . Truth is I read her testimony of her vision once but didnt see the rapture in it . Anyway then a man named derby got ahold of the idea and added it to the dispensation doctrin he was forming . He then claimed to have the vision 3 years before the mcdonald girl . Then it was popularised in a bible commentary written in conjunction with a bible called the scofield bible . Derby claimed to have knowlage hidden from man since the time of the apostles . Theres also storys that he recieved his revalations during seasces. Not really important . Lets start . First question does the bible say that christians are removed from the earth ??? Lets see what Jesus had to say . Math 13 - 24 parable of the wheat and tares . Jesus tells the story were the workers come and say someone has planted tares (weeds) among the wheat. They ask if they should go pull em ?? Boss says no wait till harvest time and then pull FIRST THE TARES throwing them in the fire . And them collect the wheat and bring it into the barn . Now that should settle it . First the tares get pulled. But it dosent . Now incase someone dont get it Jesus explains . The one that sows the good seed is the son of man (Him) . The feild is the world . The good seed is the people of the kingom the weeds are the people of the evil one . The enimy who sowed them is the devil . And the harvest is ths end of the age . The son of man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend. And those that practice lawlessness ( theres that keeping the law stuff its everywhere !) And will cast them into the fire. Then the righous will shine forth has the sun in the kigdom of thier father ( Christians didnt go anywhere ) . Any way there ya have it . Jesus said it . Weres the rapture in that ??? . But wait theres more . The question Im addressing is who stays and who goes according to the bible . Matt 24- 37 but has the days of Noah were so also will be the coming of the son of man be. For has in the days before the flood they were eating amd drinking marrieing and giving in marriage untill the day that noah entered the ark . (Yea see there was the people that THE flood destroyed ,and then there was noah . ) and did not know till the flood came and took them all away (.the wicked ) . So also will be the coming of the son of man . There it is again . The wicked are taken and the rightous dont go nowhere ( that deseved a double negitive !) Not convinced ??? Im not interpreting the bible here Im just writing down what it says . Wonder what old Derby and Hal do with these clear scriptures ??? Bet they would tell ya the bible dosent have contradictions. There right . Always yhe wicked are taken and the righous left in the bible . Heres more matt. 13 -47 (jesus talking ) again the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind. Witch wjen it was full they drew to shore , and they sat down and gathered the good into vesseles , but threw the bad away . So it will be at the end of the age . The angels will come forth , separate the wicked from among the just and cast them into the furnace of fire . There it is again the wicked are taken and the righous stay . This is really simple stuff ! Here I got more prov.10-30 the rightous will never be removed . But the wicked will shall not inhabit the earth . Prov. 2-22 but the wicked shall be cut off from the earth , and transgressors rooted out. Of it . Theres more but it should be getting clear that ether there are some very obvious contradictions or the christians arent going anywhere. Its also tied in pretty solid with its the earth that God made for us . Our final destination . Its gotten a little ratty ovet the last 6000 years . But theres supposed to be a remodel after all the garbage is thrown out . Could write for a week on this stuff . Another point would be this God dealing with diffrent people diffrent ways nonsence . The reason God wont deal with the jews diffrent is becuase THERE IS NO GREEK OR JEW . I know thats pretty deep stuff . Took six words to desyroy there whole dispensational doctrin . Jesus compleatly did away with any idea that one group of people have any favor over another maybe ill write some of that out soon . Suffice it to say for now that theres one God one Spirit and one Body . Just like it was in the begining . Pual said all that is Isreal is not Israel . Goes on to describe it like a plant were branches are cut out and otheres grafted in pretty simple stuff . Ether your part of The plant or not . Dosent matter who ya are where your from or who your relatives are . Those scriptures the may appear to be talking about a rapture are talking about the ressurection . And they dont say were going any where . Jesus comes back and takes over the kingdoms of this world and make them His . Now I know ether way its a far fetched story . All Im saying is that its a very consistant story thats in the bible and that it only says one thing . Its not very hard to understand when looked at without all the preconceived notions that a bunch of goof balls filled our heads with . Back to the parable of tje wheat and the tares. Dosent it make sence if the sons of the evil one were right here growing up besides the children of God that they would of tryed to change the story ??? Wouldnt they try to make the commandments unimportant . Tell everybody that God is calling unrepented lawbreakers to be his people when theres thousands of scriptures that say the opposit ???
