Without them, we would not be able to bring this belief back into mainstream contemporary Sunni Islam. Regarding Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, I say, know, all of the Shah Mardan sohbets, which are arguably the most important sohbets of Sultaul ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Nazims work as a GrandShaykh of the Naqshbandi Order, in paving the way for the Mahdi alayhi salam were all addressed to Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. That act of generosity of Shaykh Mehmet Nazim, grandson of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, resulted in Mawlana and I having the necessary interaction required for him to renew all of my authorizations from him, without my asking, and grant me Ijazah to officially initiate and call to the Naqshbandi Golden Chain tracing through the Twelve Imams of Ahl al-Bayt, to Shah Mardan Ali ibn Abi Talib, back to the Pride of Creation sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam. These are the Ahl al-Bayt of our Shaykh, and they symbolize them for us literally, and also have biological descent from them through Imam al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, from the family of the venerable Ghawth al-Adham Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani. These gentlemen descend from BOTH Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani, and Ghawth al-Adham Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani. That is not a little matter, to be taken lightly. They are descendants of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam. They descend from Adnan, they descend from Quraysh, they are Qurayshite. They descend from Abd al-Muttallib. Their ancestors are Arabs. They are Hashemites, from the Sons of Hashem ibn Abd al-Manaf. They are Aliids and Fatimids. They are Hasanids and Jilani. Be careful about them. Be careful about them. Be careful about them. The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam, said: “O Children of ‘Abd al-Muttalib! I have beseeched Allah to convert the ignorant among you into learned men, and to make you steadfast in your stand, and to guide those of you who are gone astray; and to make you brave, generous and kind. By Allah, if a person were to offer prayers between al-Rukn and al-Maqam, but at the same time die with hatred towards you, such a person will enter hellfire.” Wa minallahi tawfiq.
