Akwa Ibom is Pregnant How it all happened is still keeping - TopicsExpress

Akwa Ibom is Pregnant How it all happened is still keeping everyone guessing, just as you may be guessing too! Akwa Ibom is pregnant. No one else impregnates her than her lover who she had proudly embraced and allowed into her laps out of voluptuous ecstasy. No one knew at first that he had been playing around her all this while with evil intent, until her stomach began to protrude and she could no longer hide it from the outside pubic. Mouths are wagging and tongues are lashing -calling her names for allowing someone from the back of beyond to lure her to bed; and out of shame, with tears dripping down her bubbled cheeks, she points her finger at Governor Godswill Akpabio as being responsible for her pregnancy. And to the consternation of everyone within and without, and not minding the consequences, the man arrogantly admits that he did it! On critical examination of his acceptance to having done it, and even with the language he puts it, it is glaring to the prying eyes and sniffing noses that he did it out of lust, greed and selfishness, ignoring the estate that the fickle fortune has entrusted into his hands for a time. Yes, the Governor did it! He impregnated the woman called Akwa Ibom! It is not new anyway, but what makes his case disturbing is the result of the scanning done on this pregnant woman. Anyone that hears it would be alarmed and make attempt to raise dusts on Governor Godswill Akpabio, in spite of his present fortune. Guess what! Akwa Ibom is pregnant with conflicts!!! She is carrying unborn conflict-babies of Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio! Guess what this means to the future of the state! If the woman delivers Governor Akpabios babies, guess what will transpire in the human families sparingly spread across the political landscape of the state! Guess how Governor Akpabios wife, children and kindred will receive the distrust and disdain of these conflict-children he has out of wedlock! Guess the hates, phobia and anger in the land that will follow the birth, growth, and education of these conflict-children! Guess if indeed the state will ever be the same as it were before Governor Godswill Akpabios lust, greed and selfish desires moved him into doing what he has done to Akwa Ibom! But few questions bother some of us: do Governor Akpabios kindred think at all over all these? Do they see their kinsmans lust, greed and selfishness beyond today? Do they look into the womans womb to see the possible future of the state? Do they still have grey-hairs-elders and statesmen among them who can look into their kinsmans eye balls to tell him what he has done is an abomination anywhere in the world? Or, has the wisdom of their elders gone so soon after the dead of their past heroes? Please, someone should also help in asking, is Governor Akpabio acting on a spell; or is it just the issue of the proverbial cat that could not let go its prey until it got the part of meat it craved for? Now, hear the full scanning result of the womans pregnancy: quadruplet of conflict-babies. What does that mean? Now, listen to doctors interpretation of the scans result: if delivered of what she carries as pregnancy in the few months ahead, the conflict-children shall be in crises and cause more conflicts, ad-infinitum; particularly at delivery (or elections) seasons. Still, doctor, I dont understand what you mean!, someone was asking the doctor for further explanations. Now, hear what the doctor has to say. Please, listen with open-mind-patience -if at all there is such grammar. Quadruplet means four children in a womans womb. That is to say, the woman is carrying four conflict-babies in her womb. What has that got to do with Akwa Ibom!, this woman is too inquisitive; she asked the doctor again. Then, listen, the four children represent the four blocs which build up the personality called Akwa Ibom and upon which her soul rests. On being borne, the four blocs infected with seeds of hatred-prone conflicts will never be the same and at peace again, and perhaps ad-infinitum. Why doctor? Are you speaking as oracle or you are just interpreting the scans result?’ an alarmed passer-by demanded to know more from the doctor. And again, hear what the doctor revealed in his answer to that question: there is no how these conflict-babies will not fulfil their destinies as are in the inseminated gene of the man who had lured the mother to bed and impregnated her to bring them forth into the world. The four of them whose destinies reveal Ibibio, Annang, Oro, and the peripheries will never see eye to eye, following the gene with which they were primarily formed from the foetus. The order with which the destinies of these blocs were designed by their Creator will be completely altered as soon as the woman delivers Governor Akpabios conflicts children. But wait a second, doctor, a woman cut the doctor short to ask, In all that you are saying, are you not implying Esau and Jacob whose conflicts began in the mothers womb and they were borne and grew up to be in conflicts, ad-infinitum? Oh woman, the doctor responded, you are not only asking a question but you are making the right analogy illustrative of the very scenario with Akwa Iboms pregnancy. Doctor, you mean that there is no solution to this?, asked a curious listener. And hear the doctor: The only solution is to abort that pregnancy. Immediately, echoes and choruses of all reasonable men and women, ABORT IT!!! ABORT THE PREGNANCY!!!’ rent the air. Thats not all... When this story and the reactions of the people got to the Governor, he listened to the narrator with cold-indifference and insisted that the woman must deliver his babies! When they heard him, elders, statesmen, youths, women and even the guests looked away with pouting lips; no comments. What!!!? Screamed the impetuous child who seems to see into the womb of the future. It took the impetuous child whose fathers name is the most obscure in the state to raise alarm to the chagrin bewilderment of the elders and statesmen, who watched with dismay -seeing the gut, the verve, the resoluteness and the mind of David with which he confronted the Goliath of the historical time. This impetuous child first of all addressed the elders and statesmen: What makes you elders? What makes you statesmen? You cannot respect your ages and tell this young man the truth, if perhaps he may listen and save this state from possible conflicts? At your ages as elders and in your positions as statesmen, what will you do again with stolen public funds used in purchasing your conscience to let go the soul of Akwa Ibom to criminals? In all the cries, in all the tears, and in all the blood thickening the Atlantic Oceans, none of you could ignore the entreaties to cage the state and say to this young man -enough is enough! and you still expect the references of the young generations whose destinies you have mortgaged? Where is the wisdom that was known among the grey hairs in the days of our grandfathers? Where is the direction that was often expected of statesmen as in the years of Senator Victor Akan! And you still go about shamelessly in the midst of deaths and conflicts to propose toasts to a man who came into this world from the back of beyond; whose conscience is seared with hot iron! Pronounce me dead if you care but the world must hear this! Is this democracy: the government of the people, by the people, and for the people? Was this the reason we fought against military tyranny; was it to once again be confronted by civil tyranny, or whatever you may call it? As this child they called impetuous child was addressing the elders and statesmen to their shame, one of the elders stood up and walked up to the child. He cuddled him tightly to his chest with bleeding nose and hot tears dripping from his eyes. He tried to speak to comfort the child but could not, as bulk of phlegm stuck hard to his hard and soft palates blocking his gullet. But the child was able to hear few of his words. These words forced tears out of his eyes; and the two of them were crying with grievous lamentations which touched other elders and few statesmen. The child had heard the elder, old enough to be his grandfather, saying to him, ... My son, forgive us, we are all guilty. No one really knows what is happening here as we are all engaging in satisfying the lust of our flesh, not minding the fates of our children. Your words strike through into the marrows of our old bones with hot shame... Using his two hands to hold the old man to his feet and at the same time whipping off his tears, the impetuous child looked toward the direction of the man he called Pharaoh, Goliath, Haman, and said to him, Yes, see what you have caused the elders of the land. You have reduced and boxed all of them to a corner to satisfy your lust, greed and selfish desires. You have reduced our elders, statesmen, and even the intelligentsia to nothing, just because you were given opportunity to serve humanity. Nobody else is anything in the state, because you have, within seven years, grown to become a deity. But have you never read that, as there was an old England and a anew, with men standing perplexed between them, so there was an old Rome and anew, and men stood perplexed between the twain...? Youll soon see this repeated in our days!!! The child, after addressing the Governor, turned back to the elder that held him to his chest, and said to him, Conflicts do not just happen, they are given birth by certain actions of an individual or some individuals in either the remote past or the evolving history. They often start little by little and gradually grow into full blown crises and then let loose some implosions that draw the attention of the world -creating issues that generate controversies in human settlements and in some other climes and space. Whenever these controversies roll into the courts or gardens of aimless politicians, they begin to wear human faces and some individuals would claim some names and issues out of the controversies, hence claims and counter-claims that often culminated in conflicts, just as you have heard in the state. Things do not just happen; individual or some individuals caused them to happen. So, issues generating controversies were first created as myths by someone who was not taken seriously at first, perhaps for want of peace or as a mark of respect for his person or the office he occupies. Some aimless folks must have seen conflicts sneaking into the society and perhaps raised alarm or perhaps not. Like those conflict children who will be borne through the lust and selfish desire of one man who in his craftiness had lured the woman to bed and enjoy the momentary pleasure of his canal lust; unknown to him that he has, through that singular act, impregnated the woman to give birth to conflicts children on missions to unsettle some human families and communities. Look at this: Ibibio had governed the state for 12 years since its creation; Annang would by 2015 govern the state for 8 years. In the calculations of the Annang man in power, an Ibibio of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District will take over from him in 2015 for perhaps another 8 years, where-after an Ibibio of Akwa Ibom North East will have to take up the mantle in 2023 for another 8 years. By right of Senatorial District zoning as Governor Akpabio canvases, power will certainly move to either an Ibibio or Annang of Akwa Ibom North West in 2031 for 8 years. If you can still make use of your sense of Mathematics, you will realize that 24 years from 2015, no Oro man will be in the Government House as governor. Add 24 years to the already spent 27 years since the state was created, you will have Oro people suffering under the Ibibios and Annangs, like the biblical Jews, for 51 years, with none of his sons being a governor of Akwa Ibom State and taking no active role in the sharing of their golden eggs called commonwealth. The elder was alarmed, gaping at the impetuous child in his graphic analysis of marginalization of the Oro ethnic nationality, and then asked, My son, whos your father? Where did you school and obtain this level of wisdom? The child looked dismayed over the question, whos your father?, and answered, you dont need to know my father or where I come from before you believe an open and simple truth. For instance, let me ask you this simple question: is it not the crude oil that makes Akwa Ibom so thick and buxom to the admiration of the entire nation? What percentage of this oil has Annang contributed? What percentage has Ibibios contributed? Go into the records and you will be amazed that Oro contributes well over 70% of the crude oil that makes the state the No 1 oil producing state and highest earner of monthly federal allocations. And go to Oro even right now, it looks like ghosts communities; yet men of this age still think Oro people cannot bite in the face of uncommon marginalization, victimization and suppression! Careful analysis of conflicts in any human society would reveal that an individuals hate and resentment of the next man not of his own stock usually spur transfer of aggression which may lead to negligence of his responsibilities to people directly or indirectly related to the hated or resented fellow. What must have been the sin of an Oro man against Godswill Akpabio, for him to have transferred such aggression to Oro people? Education is useless if it cannot aid an individual in thinking and taking actions that show he is educated and has attained certain level of civility.
