Album 144. KISS, Lick It Up. On 18th September 1983, a band who had been going 11 years appeared in a basement at MTV ready to reveal themselves to the world. KISS had finally decided the time had come to officially unmask. The decision wasnt taken lightly and Paul Stanley has hinted he wanted it to happen earlier. Lick It Up carried on pretty much where Creatures of the Night had left off. Co-Writer Vincent Cusano took on the name Vinnie Vincent and became an official member. However, this would be the start of a merry-go-round of guitarists until KISS finally (and thankfully) settled on Bruce Kulick. Stanley believes LIT sold more than COTN because they had unmasked, this may be true but it certainly contains the strongest KISS songs of the unmasked era and wouldnt be really built upon until Hot In The Shade.
