Alexs Unofficial Rules for Attending Hershey Park. Note: Rules may be appropriately applied to other theme parks as needed. 1. When you park, do not spend ten minutes standing in the parking space next to you. Chances are, the spots are being given in a line. If you need to apply sunscreen, do it behind your own car. 2. Its crowded. Dont just suddenly stop in the middle of a high traffic area. 2a. If you ignore rule 2, you lose the right to be offended that someone bumped into you. 3. If you came on a Saturday in July, its going to be busy. Its a nationally-recognized amusement park, what the hell did you expect? 4. To follow up on rule 3, there are going to be lines. It comes with the territory. Come on a Tuesday if you dont want to wait in long lines. 5. If your friends are halfway through one of these long lines, it does not make it okay to push past everyone to get in line with them. Everyone is guaranteed to hate you. 6. Fill the train. If youre a twosome, and the people in front of you are a twosome, dont wait until the next train to get on when four are available. Weve just waited an hour to get this far; I dont think your park experience will be ruined by sitting next to strangers. 7. Be nice to the people working there, especially mascots. Their day sucks bad enough without you throwing a fit because your child is too short to ride the Stormrunner. 8. Have fun. Why go to a theme park if youre going to sit around and be miserable the whole time? You paid to get in here. Do you think if you look mad at the world, someone is going to come to you and say, Oh, clearly youre better than this, go right to the front of the line, sir. 9. To once again follow up on rule 2, if youre in a group of ten, dont congregate in the middle of a high traffic area. There are benches and side spots for a reason. 10. Finally, if youre one of those people who shove kids out of the way so you can get somewhere two seconds quicker, kill yourself. Carry on, and enjoy your day at Hershey Park.
