All in a Day.....2 weeks ago, Mom wasnt feeling real chipper....I had her ER on Friday, June 20th after we entered her pie for the fair. She was out earlier that week in the heat/humidity and my thoughts were that it totally drained her. Thinking dehydration...dr. said take her to the hospital as she was weak. I took her there and she seemed to check out somewhat ok. After the weekend, I took her some Beef n Noodles from Perkins and still wasnt coming around. Well, mom mentioned that 2-3 days you need to follow up with your dr. Tuesday we got her into the dr. and one look at her he said he didnt want her staying alone. Not good, she cried, I cried, and my brother and I just wanted her to get somewhere to get to feeling better. I finally got her convinced to go to Kingston for respite care. Mom said I wanted to bake a pie for the fair next week. I told her I would have no problem with her doing that but her health was first and if you start eating 3 good meals a day I would be more than happy to take you home to make a pie. She went to the dr. and her weight went from 90 to 97 pounds. So Wednesday I took her home to make the crust and Thursday she made her Apple pie. This afternoon, mom sold her pie for $525.00. Thanks to John Thiel and Howard Seckel for purchasing her pie. Its all about paying forward and it made my Moms day. Thanks, too, to Bob Clunk for bidding, too! I only wish I knew how mom makes her pies at 87 years young. She will be 88 on Aug. 14. Guess that fair blood runs in the family!
