All of us have storms that we have to go through in our lives. It - TopicsExpress

All of us have storms that we have to go through in our lives. It is part of living in this world. Here is the story of one of mine. On the morning of July 5, 2013, I woke up blind in my right eye. Since my left eye had already been damaged to the point of only being able to have 65% vision, I was in a real dire situation. I was taken to the emergency room and the doctor had no clue to what was wrong. I am not diabetic, no high blood pressure, nothing. I was sent to one of the best eye doctors in the city. He came in on a Saturday morning just to examine me and he could not find out what was wrong. All he could tell was that something was very wrong with my retina. He referred me to Dr. Keith Warren who is the top retina specialists in the mid west. Dr. Warren examined me on Monday July 8th and informed me that there was severe bleeding under my retina and the eye had filled with blood. He could not explain why or how this happened and he scheduled me for surgery on Wednesday, July 10th. After the surgery Dr. Warren told me that he drained the blood from my eye but there was a large clot still behind the retina. He put a hole in my eye in hopes that the clot would break apart and drain into the eye ball. He didn’t hold out much hope. I waited for 2 weeks. During that time I couldn’t drive, work, read or anything. Even something as simple as shaving became an almost impossible task. My wife did all she could do to help me. She promoted my music online for me, drove me where I needed to go and did all the things that I just could not do. Family and friends Prayed for me and I never lost faith. Yes there were times that I was discouraged and upset because there were things that I needed to do that I just couldn’t do and that had me frustrated but I NEVER lost Faith in the Promise of God. I never let my faith in His Word leave my heart and my mind. On August 1st, I had my appointment with Dr. Warren. Everyone was a little guarded in the office. The Doctor began his examination and he kept saying “Wow”,,”Wow”. He looked at me and told me that everything was going just as he had planned. The clot had broken up and all the rest of the blood had again drained into my eye ball. He then asked when I could do the next surgery. The surgery was scheduled for that Wednesday August 7th. After the procedure, the doctor spoke to me and my wife. He said that everything looked good but he could not promise that I could ever use that eye again. He scheduled me to visit his office the next day to remove the bandage. My appointment was at 1:15PM on Thursday August 9th. There were several people ahead of me in the waiting room but my name was the first called. The first stop was in a little room where the nurse updates your records and puts those drops in your eyes. She was very aware of my history and the guarded prognosis. My wife stood against the wall silent as the nurse began to remove the bandages from my eye. I slowly opened my eye. I saw the lights in the room first. I then turned to look at my wife and I saw the most beautiful woman on this planet. Then the nurse did the finger count thing. I could see them. Then we went to the eye chart. She asked me to read the first line. I did. She asked me to read the second line and I did. My wife began to cry. The nursed asked me to read the third line and I did. That’s when it hit me. I knew then that God had shown me Mercy and Rewarded my Faith. I continued reading the eye chart. The nurse began to cry. The nurse took my chart and was about to take us to the examination room and Dr. Warren met us at the door. Everybody in the room was crying with tears of joy and thanksgiving. The nurse told him the news and tears began to fill his eyes. Miracles still happen. God still rewards those that have faith in Him. Keep your eyes lifted to Him and He will never fail you….
