Almost after every press briefing with the CMC at the Sangguniang Panlungsod - I rush to my favorite spot, outside the fenced structure, where long concrete flower pot served as my seating throne, just at the sidewalk, a meter away from the main street of RT Lim Boulevard. Its actually a common place where everyone is free to sit and relax after a long walk or work. It was free until tonight. Soldiers guarding the gate of the SP first shooed me away from the pavement. "Bawal dyan, alis dyan." I ignored them. Its a public structure, a structure erected from our own taxes so why would I leave? A small soldier, maybe just my height approached and ordered me to leave immediately. "Bawal umupo yan, utos po ng CMC, kaya mas mabuting umalis na kayo dyan." I asked the soldier, "alam mo ba kung ano ang nilalabag mo?" He explained that CMC officials directed them to ban everyone from getting near or loitering near the compound of SP. I asked the soldier why and he said he is not authorize to explain but before leaving me there sitting waiting for my rented vehicle, he reminded me curtly "alis na dyan agad." Few minutes and a tall soldier approached with full metal gear and M16 on a trigger ready approached. "Meron ba kayong na secure na clearance para umupo dyan?" Wow!!! and my reply was "At meron ka bang karapatang tratuhin akong umupo sa labas ng building na ito na naitayo galing sa ating mga buwis?" Such as poor pea-brain soldier like him just responded "may utos po kaming paalisin kayo sa anumang paraan dahil bawal po dyan." He was carrying his M16 and I am sure that cops in front of me were already curious and some even waved at me acknowledging them helps in easing out boiling anger inside me. I showed him my ID and he shoved it, "utos po ng CMC ang sinusunod namin." So am just asking the CMC is that how you deal with your people? Is paranoia creeping in your nerves where all the people doing their respective roles now under harassment. Can I also file charges of RA9851 against the CMC? Do the CMC officials know that SP Building even the pavement is owned by the people even if we are all under the state of dramatic emergency? Is it not enough that you wanted journalists especially those covering the real stories on the ground be subjected to interrogation including me by CIDG? My goodness!!! Shame on you!!!
