Alright folks, I promised you puppies so here they are! First, let me introduce you to the amazing Mamma of these adorable babies: Meet Zena...a now beautiful 4-5yr old black lab. Zena was dumped starving and dirty on a country road to fend for herself. After wandering around a neighborhood for several days, she found a porch with a throw rug by the back door and it was there that she was discovered, curled up and sleeping at a strangers home. The family fed her for a few days while they made inquiries to who could be missing such a sweet dog...after finding no one to claim her the family called animal control as they could not afford to keep Zena. During the time, Zena stayed on that families porch, she only left for potty breaks and waited for someone to open their door and let her in to their lives. We rescued Zena from a rural high kill shelter on October 3rd after being overlooked as just another big black dog. She arrived scared, dirty, emaciated, dejected and unbeknownst to us. ..pregnant...but we were able to get a small glimpse of the stunning, sweet girl she was to become with just that first tentative wag of her tail upon arrival. Flash forward to present and we are happy to announce that Zena blossomed into a beautiful, sweet and perfect girl...perfect in her foster moms home, riding in the car and just hanging out. Zena gave birth early this morning to 3 healthy, beautiful pups (2 females, 1 male). She approached motherhood the same way she reacts to everything...with a calm grace and gentleness of her breed. Pups will be available for adoption December 29th. And though we know her pups will get many applications and find their forever homes...please consider their mom. Zena is such beautiful girl that is 100% house-trained (has never been crated while in our care), quiet, calm, loves car rides and well, she has finally learned to love LIFE :) We promise to post more pictures of this adorable family as Zena helps her babies grow. In the meantime, we need help with names....please give us suggestions!!
