Alright, so following up on last Friday, Id like to say two - TopicsExpress

Alright, so following up on last Friday, Id like to say two things: 1. I was impatient, and Id like to apologize to each of you for that. That being said, many youth who attended the music practice night exhibited a high level of disrespect, having no intention of participating in the evenings planned activity. I expect better out of people than that. 2. Moving forward, neither of these is situations should be allowed to reoccur. Omega Youth is intended to promote a godly environment where all youth are challenged to become the best they can be, through relationships with God and fellow students and through mentoring. Miranda and I are committed to supporting each of you in your lives. We honestly care, without exception and without any ulterior motive. We are unpaid volunteers who are only here because we know God and we believe in each of you. We will always hold a focus on God as the underlying foundation of Omega and will never cease in making available to anyone the opportunity to learn about Christianity and experience it for themselves. Likewise, the door is always open for anyone to attend, without exception. Jesus philosophy seems to be endeavour always to leave no soul behind, and so that is ours also. Yet, all this being said, we cant allow Omega to devolve into chaos or mob rule. So, if you are attending an event, then for goodness sake, participate. If you wish to show up only to have your own event off to the side or in the other room and to detract from the planned activity, then -- and I am sad to have to say this -- but please do so elsewhere. You dont have to come out to Omega: there are plenty of other places to hang out with friends on a Friday night and I have no hard feelings for people who do so! Now, if you would like the opportunity to lead, within the scope of Omega -- to organize events and to be in charge -- then Miranda and I are happy to make that happen. We are all about mentoring and training each of you to be able to move into respected leadership roles in the community. Please dont take that opportunity lightly. Its not something that everyone has made available to them. Each of you has potential (read: YOU) and Miranda and I believe in you. To that end, were willing to go above and beyond to help each of you succeed in your talents and ambitions, whether that be through leadership training, opportunities for adventures in and around town, support during difficult situations, or even to a certain extent monetarily (believe it or not, the Bible calls for Christians to support people financially as they are in need). I feel this message is long enough, so Ill wrap it up. God bless you this week. I have no grudge against any of you, so well hope to see you all again soon. Dont hesitate to stay in touch. Regards -J
