Although I didnt sleep very well, I watched VICEs 5 part special on ISIS (now IS) late last night after getting back from Boston. Its all available on Youtube. Its not for the faint of heart, but I think its really important to know whats actually going on in Iraq right now. Its more extreme than most Americans are aware of.....300,000 civilians have fled their homes in Iraq according to The Guardian, and god knows how many people have been tortured and killed since IS has taken over. Because America is unfortunately becoming involved once again in the conflict- its really important that we atleast know the gravity and specifics of the situation over there. I dont agree with war, EVER. But we atleast need to have our ear to the ground. ISIS is gaining traction, and fast. Centrifugal forces are spinning...people are dying. And all the equipment we fed into Iraq in the last war is now being put to use by a new government, one weve never seen the likes of. Lets be grateful for what we have today. K thats my shpeel.
