Although only a young puppy, Ryder has had a rough life so far. Her leg was broken, but instead of treating it her people just left it to heal improperly, leaving her lame. She was eventually found running loose on the street, and brought to the Humane Society. Due to the location of the fracture and the fact that her growth plates had started healing improperly amputation was the only option for her to avoid a life of pain. Fortunately, dogs come with three legs and a spare, so Ryder will do just fine and be able to grow up happy and healthy. Medical treatment like Ryders is only possible thanks to the caring people who support the Humane Society.
