Am I such an idiot, or they have vested interests! CPI(M) is fighting over Karat line and Sita line (as if they are Joshi, Ghosh and Randadive!) How long CPI(M) would suffer from such self-deception as if it is an all-India party. IT IS NOT. It is what it is because of WB, Kerala and Tripura. Whats then the point in barking over Ideological and Tactical Line with national politics as the top in its agenda. (It does not count there. And if it counts, that is only for its achievements in these states.) And, lets be honest, PDR is as far away as the Mars! (Yes, I am angry, and I have every right to be.) The CPIM does not have any compulsion and any objective reason to think political line keeping Delhi in mind. Both the sermons of Greater Left Unity (Karat) and anti-BJP Grand Coalition with universally discredited and utterly corrupt Congress (Yechury) are meaningless air-polluting exchanges of trees (I mean, papers) and sound. India being a sub-continent and frighteningly (or amazingly) diverse in all respects including, very prominently, political developments and compulsions, the Party should only set a very broad outer limit and must allow the state parties to choose its own tactical (to be ruthless, electoral) line. Yes, we are against communalism of BJP, we are against corruption, we are against the unconditional surrender to Bank-Fund-driven liberalization selling off national assets to corporates, we are for democratic rights of the people and for faithful observance of federal principles. Above all, we are for the poor and the marginalized. And, thats all. Let the state parties decide the rest. Kerala has one compulsion, West Bengal another. We have to survive and we have to flourish in both states. And if we expand, CPIM would regain its national importance. A leader from non-existent party of Telengana or Chhatisgarh, by virtue of being member of the CC, must not decide whom we are to align with or not.
