Amama The Punching Bag...Leaves At Critical Moment. By Goodluck Musinguzi Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi has been a punching bag for the last 40 years. Mbabazi born in Kabale chose to study law and circumstances in the early 1970s couldnot allow him settle down. The different assignments Mbabazi got were done in such way that for him to get results, he never pleased everyone. Bill Cosby says i dont know the key to success but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. When Amama Mbabazi was fired last week, he remains the punching bag he has been. I dont pity him because he is leaving at a successful not. In economics when something reaches diminishing point, it comes down. Ugandans feel disgusted with state of affairs, their life has taken a dip. Since 2011,inflation ate their everything, they are yet to find level of 2010. Ugandans want someone who can liberate them from a 30 year one man rule, continuation means a family dynasty will rule Uganda according to scholars. Mbabazis corner stone that could outlast all the contraversies of hos tenure would be DEMOCRACY. Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi like he natured FRONASA, planned the Kabamba attack, set up the NRM/NRA structures, he can help the progressive leaders in ending the one man rule. Amama Mbabazi he will have a prominent place in Ugandas history that wont be taken away from him. His character and the way he reacts to situation will be a subject of study one day in classrooms. He set up the External Security Organisation, First Minister of Defence in this regime and other firsts that came his way. If he embraces forces of change to avert the family dynasty,Ugandans will say Mbabazi was a true democrat who finished the job. Some will continue punching Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi, asking why did you stay longer with Museveni and yet things were falling apart. Amama will reply i managed to stay longer because whatever wrong government did, i tried to fix it. But Museveni has thrown me because he wants power at all costs. Ugandans as you continue to throw stones and punch Amama Mbabazi remember, Museveni has taken road to please everyone. His family comes first, then other issues come next. Museveni will commission boreholes,bicycles to fight poverty and yet he has people to work with. Amama the punching bag is welcome to the last phase of the struggle. Term limits should come back, Ugandans must regain their status. Everyone given office remember the key to failure is trying to please everyone. Amama Mbabazi did his part but still needed a little while.
