Amazon is a unique corporation. A lot of the old economic rules may not apply. But still, when you rake in $20 billion but still show losses? It seems to parallel a trajectory of a small, successful company that decides to push growth and diversify at the same time. It plunders its core business to squeeze funds to keep diversification afloat. They wreck their core and half-ass the diversification. Then comes retrenchment. Then comes a fire sale. Then closure. But what do I know? Nothing.
