American Atheists and several other secularist groups claim that the [government] gives preferential treatment to [victims of violent crime, bestiality, liars, frauds and thieves] and [law-abiding citizens] who seek or have [protected] status compared to secular [criminal] organizations. The groups say this violates non-believers’ [criminals] Constitutional rights because it treats [criminals] differently than non-[criminals] and equates to government support of [the Ten Commandments, etc.,] religion. I may or may not be para-phrasing. Or demonstrating what is called the one-size fits all or utilitarian argument. Look it up. Logically, FFRF and their funky little friends should also litigate against marriage. It too is a fundamentally religious concept and tradition, as opposed to civil unions and partnering contracts, which would be strictly secular. Of course, getting the government out of marriage, aka the legal system, would return the vulnerable to the glories of the past, when they were bounced out of the protections of the marriage penniless and without recourse to anything beyond charity. The government became involved on behalf of the vulnerable, to protect the rights of the individual from predation by the powerful. Any governmental endorsement, acknowledgement or support of Christian fundamentalism would clearly constitute discrimination against a secular and ultimately humanist based society, unfairly penalizing those that would prefer the freedom to indulge their whims without being unjustly held to the arbitrary moral standards imposed by a religious body. It really is unconscionable that a church not be subjected to all the red tape and bureaucracy imposed on other, completely dissimilar organizations, by the same legislators that conferred that status, un-asked, in retaliation for exercising their *Constitutionally protected* First Amendment rights. The Constitution is clearly important to lawfare trolls/atheists. Hence the many efforts theyve mounted against all manner of infringements on a substantial number of amendments, all of which are Constitutionally protected. And, of course, Christmas nativities, war memorials, toy drives and the like. All abomination to any true believer in actual practices of religious liberty. The fact that virtually *any* action in the nation is either criminalized or sanctioned by the state whether its on public or private property seems to have gone un-noted. Wonder what Stage Two entails.
