Americas Misguided Children Asylum Seekers Overwhelm the U.S. Border Crossings with Mexico As reported to Fox news, there has been a huge influx of asylum seekers coming to the U.S. So much so that the border crossings have to shut down periodically to handle the influx. Officials are left wondering what the cause is behind this increase. Apparently someone has told the asylum seekers that they can gain access to the U.S. by saying a few key words. All they have to do is say they are seeking asylum due to a “credible fear of the drug cartels.” While their is a war going on between the cartels in Mexico, this increase goes above and beyond the normal requests. “This clearly has to have been orchestrated by somebody,” said former U.S. Attorney for Southern CA. Peter Nunez. “It’s beyond belief that dozens or hundreds or thousands of people would simultaneously decide that hey should go to the U.S. and make this claim.” Sources according to Fox News, say that one day last week, 200 border crossers came through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry claiming asylum while as many as 500 overflowed inside the processing center there and in nearby San Ysidro.
