Among white men, there exists this desire to critique the rioting negro which, I can tell, is cathartic for white men. You, my pale brother, with manners as refined and pure as his sweet mother civilization, have this sticky ideological dissonance in you. You are committed to enlightenment ideals of the equality of man, but have to reconcile this commitment with the fact your black counterparts appear to you as alien, poor, uneducated, barbaric, and illogical despite the fact you share in humanity. Surely, you think, I am not a racist. It must be the negro who brings corrosion on himself! If all man is equal, you wonder, why is the negro so downtrodden? You serve yourselves redemption in your reasoning, Well, if they choose to behave as criminals, they may be justly refused the rights, privileges, and powers of those who dont. The negro chooses to riot. Thus, the negro chooses his oppression I hope this way of viewing the world helps you sleep well at night.
