She was stabbed 15 times, said Assistant Merrimack County Attorney George Waldron. She was left at the side of the road. When the defendant was fleeing the scene, after passers-by stopped to look at what they saw was a body on the side of the road, she fled and almost ran over the victim again. They tracked her through the woods and subsequently arrested her. Police said Heath was arrested near the intersection of Brindle Pond Road and Shackleford Corner Road, a good distance away from the Amherst Drive home. She was treated for exposure. Investigators said say they are still looking into the reason behind the stabbing. The victim remained unconscious Monday after undergoing surgery. The victims name has not been released.
