An Albuquerque police officer was shot and injured while making a traffic stop in northeast Albuquerque early Saturday morning, according to a police department spokesman. The Officer pulled over a suspected drunk driver around 2 a.m. on the Northeast side of the city. As the Officer approached the vehicle, the suspect opened fire. The officer was able to shoot back but it is unclear if he hit the perpetrator. A massive manhunt is on for the suspect who fled. The Officer, a 30 year veteran of the force, is stable and expected to survive. Police say they are searching for a clean-shaven, white or light-skinned Hispanic man, about 6-feet tall, who was wearing a dark jacket, dark jeans and a brown baseball cap.
