An Apple Creek man is facing up to 18 months in jail for butchering livestock without a license. 46-year old Jecky Hershberger has pleaded no contest in Wayne County Municipal Court to 14 counts of violating agricultural laws. The charges stem from an ODA inspection last winter that determined Hershberger illegally slaughtered nearly a thousand hogs in 2012. Sentencing is scheduled for later this month.
