An eleven hour ride home and a thorough mauling by the three hounds. Its good to be home. And the customary posting of some light hearted fb junk to boot. But on a more serious note, Im still a little shaken from yesterday. The electrical safety consultant stumbled onto a big problem and nearly wound up dead himself. The geometry is difficult to explain, but a place that badly needed a safety railing didnt have one. It was in a location that someone who has no prior knowledge, like me, could very easily not see the problem and fall 60 feet to their death (if the fall hadnt killed me the 12.5 kV would have finished me off). Itll be a while before I get a good nights sleep. The good news, I showed it to the plant manager and it scared him enough that he already has a contractor working on it.
