An ending to the greatest theatre experience of my life, and a true spiritual journey. I will be posting some more pics and slideshows here online, but we who had performed a staging of Jesus Christ Superstar with Itinerant theatre, performed an all new additional staging with KCProductions, ending this weekend. We stayed true to the original staging from the 70s, and we really REALLY became a family of people who loved each other very much. We owe it all to Keith Chamberlain, a director who loves his cast and puts forth our best talent, and who will no doubt change the lake area theatre scene by bring professional productions of big musicals to our stages. Gabi Fontenot was inspired in his performance of Jesus Christ, putting for the passion and love Jesus had for all people and his ultimate sacrifice to prove Gods love. Tony James was Judas with a common man mentality, who was very lovable and human, and simply didnt want to die, but couldnt understand Jesus was willing to lay down his life. Hayley Smith would get a Tony if this was on broadway, for as Mary Mags, I cant think of a better person to sing this part. Her beauty of voice, and of herself, shined one that stage, and truly enchanted anyone who was there. John Paul Primeaux was the magnificent Saint Peter who loves Jesus but denies him 3 times, and we felt his pain and anguish, and his singing blew us all away. Taylor Simon was wonderful as Simon Zealot, an apostle of Christ who wanted to rage war on the Romans, only to have Jesus explain to him that violence was not the answer. Other cast members, Ryan J. Domingue, Chad Reeves, Frank Cooper, Kevin Delaney, and Randy Partin, were compelling as apostles, and haunting as the high priests sending Jesus to his death, and Dan Sadler as Pilate sent the house into chills. Angie Reeves, Bianca Augustine, Renata Barker, Robin Thibodeaux Prejean, Sarah Parks Plauche, Kassidy Ortego, and Roxanne Trahan are more than just amazing women with beautiful souls, but they have beautiful voices and wonderful stage presence. I mean I am SO BLESSED because God put me in touch with these wonderful people who dont mind my hangups since I am a fellow theatre dork. I am going to write more when I am not under the influence from the after party and exhausted, but I do have to spread love out there to these people, and to thank God for putting them in my life. We will be spreading love for years to come with this group, I have no doubts. Thank you all SO much for all you have given me. You have touched my heart and made me feel a kinship that only artists who strive and work hard to a common goal can experience. Thank God for you and bless all of you! I cant wait until we are back together again. Love and God bless to all of you!
